How FairChess collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains account, gameplay, payment, technical, and support information.
Effective and last updated: August 30, 2026
1. Who controls your information
Clawlabs Network LLC, 1326 Arbor Drive, Lake, Michigan, operates NX Chess and determines how personal information described in this policy is used. This policy applies to the NX Chess website, accounts, gameplay, payments, and support.
2. Information we collect
- Account information, such as email address, display name, authentication identifiers, and account role.
- NX Chess information, including permanent username, ratings, game moves and results, opponents, sportsmanship score, strikes, bans, and founder status.
- Payment-related records received from Stripe, such as payment status, amount, currency, checkout or transaction identifiers, and limited billing details. Stripe, not NX Chess, processes full card credentials.
- Technical information, such as IP address, browser or device details, timestamps, session data, diagnostic logs, and security events.
- Support communications, including contact details, request category, username, and the message you submit.
3. How we use information
- Provide accounts, permanent usernames, matchmaking, live games, ratings, spectating, and game history.
- Process and verify the one-time username fee, prevent duplicate claims, issue eligible refunds, and maintain transaction records.
- Detect abandonment, cheating, abuse, ban evasion, security threats, and violations of our policies.
- Respond to support, privacy, refund, and appeal requests.
- Debug, secure, measure, and improve the service; comply with law; and establish or defend legal claims.
4. Public information
Permanent usernames, ratings, game records, results, rating changes, sportsmanship indicators, and founder status may be visible to other users and spectators. Do not use a username that reveals sensitive personal information. Email addresses, payment credentials, and private support messages are not intended to be public.
5. Service providers and disclosures
We disclose information only as needed to operate NX Chess, complete payments, secure the service, comply with law, or protect rights and safety. Providers may include Base44 for application hosting, authentication, databases, and infrastructure, and Stripe for payment processing and fraud prevention. We may also disclose information during a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale, subject to appropriate protections. We do not sell personal information for money.
6. Cookies and local storage
NX Chess and its providers may use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies required for login, security, preferences, active game connections, payment continuity, and service operation. Blocking essential storage may prevent accounts, matchmaking, or games from working correctly.
7. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, preserve permanent usernames and game integrity, meet accounting or legal duties, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Public game and reputation records may be kept long term because they are central to NX Chess. Support requests and technical logs are retained only as reasonably necessary for their purpose. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system is completely secure.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive certain personal information, or object to some uses. Submit a privacy request through Support. We may verify your identity before acting. Some data may be retained where required for fraud prevention, payment records, disputes, legal duties, permanent username integrity, or public game records. Account deletion does not necessarily make a previously claimed username available to someone else.
9. Children and international use
NX Chess is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information should contact Support. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as NX Chess changes or legal requirements evolve. The updated date identifies the current version, and material changes may also be announced in the service. Privacy questions and requests may be submitted through Support, emailed to support@norage-quitting-chess.com, or mailed to Clawlabs Network LLC, 1326 Arbor Drive, Lake, MI.
